Bags for separate collection of waste

City Waste Disposal has been regularly distributing bags for separate collection of plastic and metal waste packaging to all citizens and bags for biowaste collection to groups of service users residing in multi-apartment buildings. We are distributing bags in an amount sufficient for six months of 2021. Service users living in family homes receive 13 yellow bags for separate collection of plastic and metal packaging, while citizens residing in multi-apartment buildings receive 13 yellow bags for separate collection of plastic and metal packaging and 26 biodegradable brown bags for biowaste. The bags are distributed by the employees of the subsidiary City Waste Disposal.
We would like to remind you about the excellent results achieved from the very beginning of separate collection of plastic and metal packaging and biowaste in households in Zagreb during 2019: in 2019, compared to 2018, the amount of biowaste collected increased sevenfold and the amount of plastic packaging collected increased by 80%. This trend also continued in the first six months of 2020, when the amount of biowaste collected separately increased fivefold and the amount of plastic and metal packaging increased 1.5 times compared to the same period of 2019. We hereby invite our service users to continue these extremely successful separate waste collection practices.
