The pilot project researching the preparedness of the citizens for separate collection of reusable waste
2011. - 2012.
Zagreb City Holding Ltd, Subsidiary Čistoća will implement a pilot project from March 2011 to the end of February 2012, encompassing 8,000 homes in Zapruđe and Kajzerica, parts of Dubrava and Voćarska street. The relatively large pilot project will be accompanied by the pilot project of separate waste collection in the apartment building on Zeleni trg and the apartment building Mamutica on Božidar Magovac street.
The main objective of the two projects is to determine the potentials for reducing the amounts of waste that end up in the Jakuševec-Prudinec Landfill through separate collection of reusable waste on the site where the waste is produced (paper, glass and plastic) and through waste recycling and use in energy generation (biowaste).
Groups of recycling bins for separate waste collection were set up in the aforementioned areas for this purpose:

The pilot project will be implemented for one month, and its effects will be monitored.
The expected benefits from this approach include: increased amounts of reusable waste that will be recycled, reduced amounts of waste deposited at the Jakuševec-Prudinec Landfill, reduced negative impact of the waste on the environment, and improved quality of life in our city.
